NOPB chooses TekTracking for tracking job management

The New Orleans Public Belt Railway will implement TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) from TekTracking LLC.

Class III New Orleans Public Belt Railway (NOPB) chose TekTracking LLC software to manage track inspection, maintenance, planning and scheduling work.

TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) augments the current railroad and road bed inspection process, providing “digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support analysis failure trends,” according to New York-based Fairport. TekTracking, which describes itself as “an asset management technology provider serving passenger and freight rail operators across North America.” The software also “adds to the efficiency, worker safety and accuracy of track maintenance, while ensuring that all inspections occur at the frequency prescribed by railway and party requirements. 213 of the FRA”.

“We are very happy to have been selected to provide NOPB with our state-of-the-art mobile track inspection platform,” said TekTracking CEO Gregory Fogarty, who noted that TIMPS will modernize the shortline railroad inspection process.

In related developments, Ontario Northland signed in December with TekTracking to implement TIMPS.
